SB 5599 and the attack on the family
Government intrusion is not the solution.
With the recent House passage of SB 5599, Washington's Democrats came one step closer to giving youth shelters permission to hide children from their families if the child is seeking an abortion or irreversible gender treatments. Under current law, minors can already receive these services without parental knowledge or permission. This bill strictly deals with the duty of youth shelters to notify parents of the whereabouts of their children.
Although medical professionals and society agree that minor children do not have the agency to get a tattoo, buy cigarettes or vape, drink alcohol or join the military, Washington’s woke power brokers think it’s A-OK to separate children from their families in order to encourage a minor runaway to make a lonely decision in a homeless shelter to mutilate their body with irreversible gender surgeries and hormone therapy. They’ll even provide 7.5 million dollars in funding to Office of Homeless Youth Prevention and Protection Programs to pay for hiding these children.
Democrats believe it’s ok to hide children from family members who are desperately seeking them. Democrats appear to think that saying “no” to gender transition care is the same as child abuse.
As Rep. Jacqueline Maycumber, R-Republic, said during her fiery remarks on Amendment 708, it’s shocking!
Caring for your kids is NOT child abuse.
Reacting to the House vote, independent journalist and political moderate Brandi Kruse said “not wanting your child to get gender transition care is now just as bad as physical abuse in Washington state and means the government can hide your kid from you. If not affirming your minor's desired gender is abuse, what's next? Removal from the home?”
Kruse continued, “And I’ll repeat: It is not an extremist position to want to know where your child is at night. Don’t let them bully you into believing it is. You are not extremists.”
The teen years are the second fastest series of physical changes a person will experience. Medical experts also know that brain changes from teen growth years continue into the mid-twenties. It’s a vulnerable time for teens. They do need support. They need the support and guidance of loving parents.
It’s totally reasonable for parents to decide that any irreversible treatments should be delayed until adulthood. That is true no matter what health condition is being addressed. Washington Policy Center’s Todd Myers remarked “The state will be as successful in caring for these children as it has been for the homeless and those with mental illness.”
Disagreement is not hate
Some of my critics accuse me of being anti-gay or anti-trans. They’re wrong. I love everyone and I believe in freedom of choice for everyone.
But it’s not hateful to be concerned for the consequences of someone’s life choices. It’s not hateful to disagree with someone. Think back to other laws limiting what irreversible decisions minors can make. This position is not hateful. It’s prudent and reasonable.
Follow the money
Sadly, our most vulnerable, many who are suffering from mental trauma, have been funneled into a massive medical experiment, which is causing harm to individuals, to families and to our society. Our society has been turned upside down by massive marketing campaigns to convince us that mutilating and sterilizing our children is the best possible care for the normal confusion of their teenage transition to adulthood.
The medical industrial complex is laughing all the way to the bank.
And sadly, suppressing debate and open discussion deepens the harm caused by a trend. Only now, after several decades of experimentation, are we starting to hear the tragic stories of people like Chloe Cole and Scott Newgent.
Detransitioner Laura | Funk God (@funkgodartist) spoke out in a recent tweet: “Don’t gaslight me that I ‘asked for this.’ I was told this was the proper treatment for gender dysphoria and that it would relieve suffering if I had surgery and hormones… I was told that these were the WPATH standards of care and that I met the criteria. I asked for mental health treatment to reduce my suffering from comped trauma. I asked to be guided into a better quality of life. I couldn’t verbalize it when I was 19 but I asked to be protected by adults as I had not been as a child.”
Government intrusion is not the solution.
Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, noted “During floor debate, we heard the tired old cliche that 'it takes a village to raise a child.' That's false. That notion has resulted in exploding crime rates, homelessness and rising teen suicide rates in Washington. Enough. Parents are the primary stakeholders in their children's upbringing—not the government.”
Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn pointed out in his statement that SB 5599 violates established rights: “These are pre-political rights upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court multiple times. The due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment secures the rights this bill seeks to eliminate. The state has no legitimate authority to get between moms and dads—who are providing a safe home—and their children. Period.”
The transgender political movement is a ruthless and antihuman political movement, not a civil rights movement. This cultural psyop is simultaneously destroying women’s rights and gay rights. Loving parents in Washington will need to take steps to shelter their children from this toxic social manipulation.
