I have worked at one job for 35 years and finally retired about 1 1/2 year ago. I'm 68 years old and had planned on enjoying my retirement years. However, for my 1,100 square foot home in Shoreline, just 2 bedrooms, they have raised my property tax $800 per year to $5,800 a year.
This when my value has gone up, giving them more money already, plus the fact that they had a surplus budget, and throw in the devastating effects of inflation and I've had to go out and start working a full time job again.
It reminds me of years ago when they asked one of the richest men in the world, John D Rockefeller, how much money is enough? He replied, "Just a little more..."
