If you can't fix it, would you join the Greater Idaho movement?

I'm following the Greater Idaho movement very closely. :)

why not form a separate state and get +2 conservative Senators?

Legally, Creating a separate State is a very heavy lift. Requires agreement of our State legislature and the agreement of Congress. Congress would likely only do this if a "Democrat" state could be created at the same time. Ideal solution but unlikely. Everything would change if we implemented Voter ID and saw super majorities in the House and Senate. As far as I'm concerned... this is the proper place for activists to focus right now VOTER ID!!

Greater Idaho is not quite as difficult, but still requires the agreement of our State Legislature and the Idaho Legislature AND the Oregon Legislature. It's considered a "boundary line adjustment" rather than the creation of a completely new state.

I am very fortunate to have a state Senator and two state representatives that are all conservative republicans in Pacific Country. However trying to get anything done when the Democrats control everything is pretty much hopeless! At 85 and newly widowed, I am unable to move to a better state.

I'm not giving up on Washington! This is why we stay involved and fight!

It's not hopeless! Remember, Arkansas used to belong to the Clintons... :) It can be done!

I'm sorry for your loss, Edie! Big hugs.
