Thanks Nancy! I have also been one of those strange people that say this same thing for years, and even those that consider themselves to be conservative usually respond with, "What are you going to replace those taxes with?" How about less spending????

Property Taxes are so... normal. Just part of life. So most people don't even stop to think about them, or question if they are even good policy. My thinking over time has gradually shifted from acceptance to complete rejection. These taxes are theft.

Sadly, renters think, I don't have to pay those ... but those sunk costs are incorporated into the rent. So the legislature's current goal of dramatically increasing property taxes is going to drive rental costs even higher, and worsen the housing crisis.

Well, the Democrat party could not exist if they followed the tenth commandment. Thou shall covet, should be there motto. they just do not get it. No company, big or small, no landlord, has ever paid one penny of taxes because of their company or property. Ever penny that the government taxes their company or property, must come from their customers or renters.
