Are you over taxed? Are you tired of the green new steal and high gas prices? What about lost jobs, runaway inflation, over regulation? Is the weaponization of government against the people OK with you? Crime, immigration, fentanyl, election integrity...So many unnecessary problems created by bad government. It’s time to start paying attention and get involved in politics at the local level. It's time to caucus!
I don’t know all the requirements exactly, but $20k and the signatures from 12 members of the WSRP state committee are a minimum. There may be more requirements. The committee members have gotten quite a few last minute requests from unknown candidates. 🤔
It's kind of sad that our Constitutional Republic is beholden to a political party to give or withhold access to the ballot for presidential candidates, instead of 'We the People'. If the party becomes corrupt then all we get is corrupt candidates.
I don't believe the founders ever envisioned us voting for 'parties' but the the capabilities and virtues of individuals. We think It's terrible when one person, say from Colorado, can keep a candidate from being on the ballot, but somehow it's okay when 117 can do it...?
It's very interesting being on the WSRP State Committee, I've learned a lot. The members of the state committee are hard-working local volunteers, political junkies, who put in countless hours of volunteer work, both at home, and also on issues that impact the entire state - like election integrity. Follow Bill Bruch if you want to know how hard the EIC is working to fix our elections!
I say that because the entire state committee, including myself, are paying close attention to the prospective candidates for president. To be on the Republican Presidential Primary Ballot this March, the candidates must persuade just 12 of the state committee to agree to their candidacy. There are more requirements, but this is the requirement our state committee members impact, and we take our responsibility to research these candidates very seriously.
I can assure you there have been lively debates among the committee members about the requests that we have gotten. The candidates that have NOT gotten 12 of us sign their candidacy petition are mostly unknown or unviable candidates that would never get elected. The ones you will see on the ballot have gotten the support from just 12 of your peers after consideration of their potential and background.
I'm not saying this is the best system, but it's the system that we have here in Washington, and as one of the decision makers (3 of us from each county), I'm doing my best to present great candidates to the voters of Washington. Thanks for your comment.
Nancy,
You mentioned that only 3 presidential candidates qualified to be on Washington's ballots.
What are the qualification requirements...?
Thanks.
Timothy Ramsey

Thanks for your reply though, I didn't know that.
